ALEC is delighted to welcome two new Co-Chairs to LEAPP for 2025.
Dr Alison Teate joins LEAPP as our new Clinical Fellow, co-chairing the Pregnancy and Postnatal Panels with current RANZCOG representative Dr Nisha Khot.
Dr. Teate is Vice President of the Australian College of Midwives (ACM) and an experienced midwife working in private practice. Associate Professor Zoe Bradfield has stepped down as LEAPP Co-Chair to take on new responsibilities as ACM President but will continue to support LEAPP as the ACM representative on our Steering Committee.
Associate Professor Stefan Kane joins LEAPP to co-chair our Guidelines Leadership Group, alongside Professor Caroline Homer. Associate Professor Kane is an obstetrician subspecialising in maternal fetal medicine, and is Medical Director of Maternity Services at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne.
Stefan replaces Professor Jeremy Oats, who is stepping down from his longstanding involvement in Australia’s Pregnancy Care Guidelines over many years.
The LEAPP team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to both Zoe and Jeremy for their insights and input into the guidelines to date – their expertise and collaborative approach have been truly valued.
In the coming months, the LEAPP team will be seeking new members of our multidisciplinary clinical panels to refresh our membership and fill arising vacancies. Keep an eye out for our call for expressions of interest.
