Guidelines update, v35.2

Updates to the Australian guidelines for the clinical care of people with COVID-19 this week include:

• Tocilizumab – The reference for one included study (Wang et al.) was updated for tocilizumab to reflect the published version of the previously pre-print only article. There was no change to the strength or direction of recommendation.

• Colchicine – Text has been added to the remark section of the recommendation to acknowledge the release of a statement from the chief investigators of the RECOVERY trial regarding preliminary results of the colchicine treatment arm.

• Convalescent plasma – Text has been added to the remark section of the convalescent plasma recommendation to acknowledge the publication of results from the RECOVERY trial, which is currently undergoing analysis.

• Interferon gamma – Text has been added to the summary section of the interferon gamma Evidence tab regarding the identification of one new trial that is undergoing analysis (Myasnikov et al.).
