Guidelines update, v37.1

Updates to the Australian guidelines for the clinical care of people with COVID-19 this week include the following changes to the evidence summary sections for:

– Corticosteroids

We have found three new trials comparing corticosteroids with standard care (Corral-Gudino et al. doi: 10.1007/s00508-020-01805-8, Tang et al. doi: 10.1159/000512063 and Jamaati et al. doi: 10.1016/j.ejphar.2021.173947).

– Remdesivir

We have found one new trial comparing remdesivir with standard care (Mahajan et al. doi: 10.4103/ija.IJA_149_21).

– Ivermectin

We have found two new trials comparing ivermectin with standard care (Pott-Junior et al. doi:10.1016/j.toxrep.2021.03.003 and Kishoria et al. doi: 10.36106/paripex).

– N-acetylcysteine 

We have found one new trial comparing n-acetylcysteine with standard care (Gaynitdinova et al. doi: 10.18093/0869-0189).

Note: The newly identified trials listed above are currently under review and updated recommendations will be included in future versions of the guidelines.
