Guidelines update, v38.1

Updates to the Australian guidelines for the clinical care of people with COVID-19 this week include the following changes to the evidence summary sections for:

 

Lopinavir-ritonavir

We have found one new study comparing lopinavir-ritonavir with standard care or placebo (Reis et al. JAMA Netw Open doi: 10.1001/jamanetworkopen.2021.6468). This study is currently under review and, although not expected to change the recommendation, will be incorporated in a future version of the guideline.

Azithromycin

We have found one new study comparing azithromycin with standard care (Hinks et al. medRxiv doi: 10.1101/2021.04.21.21255807). This study is currently under review and, although not expected to change the recommendation, will be incorporated in a future version of the guideline.

Convalescent plasma

We have found one new study comparing convalescent plasma with standard care (Bennett-Guerrero et al. Crit Care Med doi: 10.1097/CCM.0000000000005066). This study is currently under review and, although not expected to change the recommendation, will be incorporated in a future version of the guideline.
